The Western States Dorper Association believes that our youth are our future! The Association and its member actively support youth through a variety of programs.

Junior Membership is $10 for youth under 18 years of age and is a non-voting membership. Privileges include participation in junior activities hosted by WSDA: programs and projects, information and knowledge sharing with Association web site resources, and participation in education, show, and junior sales activities.

 Youth Breeder Voucher Program

WSDA Youth Breeding Voucher Program Objective

The WSDA Board voted at the November 2017 Board Meeting to launch a Youth Breeding Voucher Program with the purposes to support:

1. Youth and the breed – supports youth in the purchase of breeding stock

2. Breeders and membership – supports breeders and membership

Contest winners receive a voucher that is valid toward the purchase of Dorper or White Dorper breeding sheep from any WSDA member.

To compete, youth are required to write an essay on a Dorper-related topic. Finalists then present on their essay at the WSDA Show & Sale.
